Congratulations to Benedictine Military School senior Jackson Schaaf, who has committed to compete with Georgia Southern University's clay target team!

Schaaf joins a team of many of the most talented sporting, skeet and trap shooters in the Southeast. In only the team's first year competing, GSU won the 2021 Association of College Unions International (ACUI) Collegiate Clay Targets Division 4 national championship.

Schaaf, as co-captain of BC's sport shooting team, led the Cadets to back-to-back Georgia Independent School Association (GISA) state championships. He also is the 2021 GISA individual state champion.

Schaaf brings an impressive resume to GSU, including being a three-time GISA All-State selection, a National Sporting Clays Association (NSCA) Krieghoff All-American, an NSCA Perazzi All-American, a Junior U.S. Open champion, and a three-time Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) All-Scholastic selection for excellence in academics and competition scores, and contributing scores to the Forest City Juniors' back-to-back national championship wins in Ohio.

Like several of his new GSU teammates, Schaaf also is an NSCA Master Class shooter, competing in the highest class of the NSCA, and he is a member of the National Honor Society with a 3.88 grade-point average. While Schaaf will be joining GSU's program, he also will continue to compete for the Forest City Juniors, as well as individually in the NSCA tournament circuit.

Congatulations, Jackson! Your BC family is extremely proud of you!
