Big weekend for Savannah soccer and basketball teams!

The soccer balls are out on the field this weekend, and the basketballs for week 12 of the Savannah area prep basketball teams. First, let us kick some soccer happenings this weekend and then the list of high school basketball games this weekend according to the MaxPreps Sports website. 

The South Georgia Invitational sponsored by Chatham Orthopedics and H&L Autosales will begin Friday evening at Calvary Day School. The invitational kicks off with Savannah Arts and Calvary girls against each other. They are two of the top teams in Savannah every year. 

Boy’s action is next, with Cambridge(6A) coming down from Atlanta to play Richmond Hill. Then the nightcap will be another boys game between Jefferson HS(4A) near Athens and Islands HS(4A), both Final 4 participants a year ago matching up with each other to open the season. 

Then on Saturday, Cambridge plays Benedictine, boys. Lakeside Evans from Augusta will be playing Savannah Arts boys and Islands girls. Then the end of the two-day event will have another boy’s game between Windsor Forest and Calvary. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for kids. Below are the schedules for soccer and basketball.
