Girls Golf: Savannah Christian Prep wins Area, St. Vincent's place third qualify for states

The Savannah Christen Preparatory School Lady Raiders captured first place in the GHSA 1A Private Area Golf Tournament held on Tuesday at the Crosswinds golf course.

The Raiders scored a 153, winning by 14 strokes over runner-up Prince Avenue (164). Mary Miller shot two under par 70 to win low medalist honors. Miller's teammate Ava Cottis shot an 83. The third member of the Lady Raider team is Rylan Hurd.

Also, St. Vincent's Academy placed third place with a team score of 198. Leading the Saints were Caroline Ryan, who shot a 98, and Tyne Parker shot a 100. 

In Class A (Public and Private) through Class 4A, the top three (3) teams in the Area tournament will advance to the State Championships. So, both teams will go to the GHSA 1A Private Girls Championships on May 16th and 17th, hosted by the Walker School at Governors Towne Club in Acworth, Georgia.
