GAME RECAP

South Effingham sent a recap about how the Mustangs secured a thriller 78-75 win over Swainsboro in a non-region matchup at home. Swainsboro took control early, with Kavoyea Williams leading the charge and finishing with a game-high 36 points.

However, South Effingham responded with a balanced team effort, featuring five players scoring double figures. Kaleb Griffin led the way with 18 points, while Will Harlin and Quinton Williams each contributed 13 points. Chase Seyler added 12 points, and Corbin McGuire chipped in with 11.

Swainsboro came out strong, outscoring South Effingham 22-14 in the first quarter and maintaining their lead with another 21 points in the second quarter. South Effingham kept pace with 21 points of their own in the second quarter but still trailed at halftime.

South Effingham cut the lead in the third quarter when the Mustangs went on an 18-1, which proved to be the turning point. Despite a strong effort by Swainsboro in the final minutes, South Effingham's late-game surge secured the 78-75 victory. South Effingham's Head Coach Rico Campbell praised the team's collective effort, emphasizing how every player in the rotation stepped up when needed.

"It was team effort again. Five players in double figures. Everyone in the rotation stepped up when their number was called," Campbell said.

South Effingham's next game is set for tonight at 5:30 against Bryan County.
