This week’s SCPS Athlete of the Week is McCulloch Hoxie. McCulloch had a great game on Saturday, October 24th in the 2nd round of the GHSA State Playoffs while playing a new position. McCulloch showed her versatility throughout the match as she passed a 2.25 in the serve receiver and had 7 kills with a.462 hitting percentage.

McCulloch has been playing volleyball since she was in 6th grade and said her favorite memory was beating Porter Gaud in a really competitive match earlier this year. McCulloch told her favorite part of being an SCPS Raider is the support and encouragement she feels from her peers, teachers, and the entire school and tells her goal for this season is to make it all the way to the state championship.

When asked what it means to the Savannah Christian AOTW, Mcculloch said, “Being named athlete of the week is an incredible honor. I am so thankful for Coach Julie, Coach Faircloth, and my teammates. I could not be the player I am today without them.” Please join us in congratulating McCulloch Hoxie on being named this week’s SCPS Athlete of the Week!
