Savannah Christian 8th grader Mary Miller posted scores of 75-73 to finish 4-over par for 36 holes and win the Georgia Southern Junior Classic, a PGA Georgia Section event played at the Georgia Southern University Golf Course September 27-28.

Miller, who fnished third earlier this year in the Georgia Women's Amateur Championship on the Oakridge Course at the Landings Club on Skidway Island, was 11 shots clear of runner-up Abigail Cheney of Guyton. Miller also finished 7th at the 2020 Georgia Girls Championship played at Savannah Quarters Country Club in June.

Miller wasn't the only Savannah junior golfer who performed well in Statesboro. Her brother, Charlie Miller, posted scores of 72-77 to finish runner-up in the Boys 15-18 division, and Rincon's Jacob Fripp finished in solo third after rounds of 75-76 left him at 7-over par for 36 holes.

In the Boys 11-13 age group, 12-year-old Hal Dollander of Savannah put up scores of 81-81 to finish third. Dollander was five strokes behind winner Everett Horne from Barnesville, GA, who was the only player in the age group to post a score under 80 in both rounds.
