Nicholas Scarano carded rounds of 78-72 to finish 6-over par and win the Boys Open division at the Savannah Junior Golf Association's season-ending Matt Warren Memorial Tournament played July 18-19 at the Savannah Golf Club.
Scarano, who plays on the Benedictine golf team, was also the 2021 champion in the Boys Open division at the Matt Warren tournament. He finished 10 strokes ahead of runner-up Quentin Brooks.
Hayden Price carded rounds of 76-78 to win the Girls 15-18 division in a runaway. In the Boys 15-18 Championship flight, Bowen Kicklighter put together rounds of 88-84 to win by four strokes over runner up Colin Halligan, while Bowen Kicklighter won the Boys 15-18 second flight.
In the most hotly contested age group, incoming BC freshman Chad Chadwell shot 1-under 71 in the second round - the tournament's only score under par - to overcome a one-stroke deficit after the first round and win the Boys 13-14 age group. Chadwell, who only clipped runner up Hal Dollander by one stroke after Dollander carded scores of 77-73 for two days, played his last 27 holes of the tournament at 1-under par.
In the Boys 10-12 age group, Sahaj Patel strung together scores of 79-77 to claim a convincing victory, and in the Girls 10-14 age group Madison Woodrum carded impressive scores of 80-79 to claim the victory.
Zach Dao won the nine-intermediate boys divsion with a score of 48, and Rebecca Wohn claimed the Intermediate Girls divison with a score of 53.
