Savannah High senior Jailynn Bacon is one of the fastest female athletes in Georgia, and she has two years of results to prove it.

The former region champions has clocked 12.83 seconds in the 100-meter dash and 26.03 in the 200-meter.

She is particularly proud of qualifying for the state track meet two years in a row, and she knows she was headed back to state before her senior season was interrupted. Winning the region championship in the 100=meter and 200-meter as a junior was an incredible accomplishment, and she was gunning for more this year.

"i have long legs and my mama always said I need to put em to use," Bacon said. "Ever since elementary school she said I was going to run, and I've been running since 6th grade"

Bacon plans to try to run track at Savannah State University and earn a degree in criminal justice .
