Two local schools are making another final four appearances as local Georgia High School Association schools start their basketball championship runs this week. St. Andrew's School makes its 3rd appearance in the last four years as the Habersham school is in for the second straight year. Here are the recaps from last night's games.

St. Andrew's School 53, Holy Spirit Prep 50

St. Andrew's (23-4) is on its way to its third final four appearances in the Georgia Independent Schools Association (GISA) in the last four years, in a comeback win that resulted in a 53-50 victory over Holy Spirit Prep from Atlanta, Georgia. Down 21-6 after the first quarter, the Lion's defense roared as the Holy Spirit could only score 29 points over the following three quarters.

St. Andrew's would take the lead 49-47 with 3:02 left in the game on a Zayden Edwards layup and would never relinquish the lead. Having to foul, Holy Spirit would foul Zyere Edwards to the line two times and watched Edwards sink all four free throws as time ran down. A last-second three by the Crusaders was not enough to tie the game.

St. Andrew's Edward brothers combined for 44 of the Lions 53 points. Zyere Edwards was the game's high scorer with 32 points, all coming in the last three quarters. Zayden Edwards scored 12 points to join his brother in the double digits. He also grabbed ten rebounds to finish the double-double.

On Thursday, February 24, St. Andrews takes on Southland Academy (24-1) at Georgia Southwestern University, Americus, GA, at 5 pm.

The Habersham School 83, Central Christian School 75

After trailing early, the Habersham School (11-7) boys defeated Sharpsburg's Central Christian School 83-75. Evan Davis led the way with 32 points, Tyler Tift scored 19, and Ash Smith added 17.

The Habersham School, with the win-now, has made two straight appearances to the Final Four of the Georgia Association of Parochial and Private Schools (GAPPS) basketball championships.

The Patriots travel to McDonough, Georgia, on Friday, February 25, to face Harvester Christian (19-4) at Creekside Christian.
