The Georgia High School Association state playoffs have begun in tennis, and the soccer playoffs kick-off this week. Baseball still has one week left, and in Region 3-6A, there is still a battle for seeding for the region's number one seed and number four seed for the state baseball playoffs. Here is the rundown.
Region Tennis titles went to Islands High School boys and girls in Region3-4A. In Region 3-3A, Savannah Arts Academy girls took their 7th straight region crown. In Region 3-1A, Savannah Country Day boys and Savannah Christian Girls took home the titles. GHSA state tennis playoffs have started. Islands Boys have moved on to the second round defeating Shaw High School 4-1. In GHSA 1A Private Savanah Country Day, boys and girls defeated Our Lady of Mercy to move on.
In Soccer, Islands boys and girls scored the region titles in Region 3-4A. In Region 3-3A, Savannah Arts Academy boys claimed the 1st place seed. St. Vincent's Academy girls and Savannah Country boys scored titles in Region 3-1A play and will also be number one seeds in the playoffs.
The following schools on the diamond have clinched a region championships in their respective state playoffs. They are Benedictine in GHSA region 3-4A and Savannah Christian in GHSA region 3-1A private. The Habersham School took the GAPPS 1A -Region 3 number one spot.
Region 2-6A will come down to this week's region games. Glynn Academy, Richmond Hill, and South Effingham are all tied for the number one seed with 11-4 region records. Brunswick, Effingham, and Statesboro will be playing for the chance to be the number 4 seed and a chance to get into the state baseball playoffs.
