Cottis wins Peggy Kirk Bell Girls Golf Tour event

Savannah Chrisitan Preparatory School junior Ava Cottis carded scores of 75-36 to win the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls Golf Tour's Carolina's Girls Classic Played May 4-5 at Carolina Trace Country Club in Sanford, North Carolina.

Cottis was in a four-way tie for the lead after an opening round of 3-over par 75. She posted a score of Even-par 36 on her first nine holes in the second round before the event was cut short by weather, leading to a two-stroke victory in the Bell National division over Hannah Lowery from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

It was Cottis' third victory on the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls Golf Tour but her first since 2022. She is currently ranked in the Top 50 on the Bell National Series Order of Merit.
