The San Antonio Brahmas have announced roster changes for the 2024 United Football League (UFL) after the season's first two weeks.

Wednesday, the Brahmas announced the resigning of Calvin Turner Jr., a former standout athlete from New Hampstead High School and football player at Jacksonville University and the University of HawaiiThe UFL is a professional American football high-level minor league that started in March 2024 when the Xtreme Football League and United States Football League combined.

After being released during San Antonio's Training Camp in 2024, Turner Jr. is back with the Brahmas. He had played with the team the previous season in the XFL but had to stop due to an injury that prevented him from finishing the season.

Calvin's versatility is a testament to his athletic abilities. He was a wide receiver and running back at the University of Hawaii for two seasons. As a receiver, he had 1,422 receiving yards and four touchdowns. But that's not all; the Fighting Rainbows also used him as a running back, for which he ran for 647 yards and eight scores.

Turner Jr. played three seasons at Jacksonville University in Florida before playing at Hawaii. A three-year standout as a Dolphin, he was a force on both sides of the ball. He earned all-conference honors every season, including a first-team nod in 2019. He ran for over 1,300 yards on offense and threw for nearly 800 yards, all while scoring over 20 touchdowns. He was also a standout on defense, racking up over 50 tackles as a freshman defensive back.

Calvin, a 2017 New Hampstead High School graduate, was an exceptional multisport athlete as a Phoenix. He was recognized for his achievements in football, receiving ALl-Region and All-Greater Savannah honors. As a senior quarterback, he had impressive stats - running for 1,763 yards and 15 touchdowns while throwing for 1,450 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Besides football, Calvin also excelled in basketball and track. He won the 64th Ashley Dearing Award for being the Most Versatile Male Athlete 2017. He is the first Phoenix athlete to win this award. The Savannah Morning News also acknowledged him as the Most Versatile Athlete the same year.
