The 2025 high school football season kicks off in less than three weeks, and Savannah-area teams are getting ready with a full slate of preseason scrimmages. These tune-up games give coaches a chance to evaluate talent, test lineups, and prepare their squads for the regular season.

From August 1 through August 15, local teams will face both familiar rivals and out-of-region opponents. While scrimmages don’t count in the standings, they’re key for building team chemistry, identifying strengths and weaknesses, and giving younger players valuable game experience.

The action starts Friday, August 1, with Beach, Bryan County, Bethesda, Islands, Jenkins, Richmond Hill, and Savannah High taking the field. The excitement continues with more games on Thursday, August 7, and Friday, August 8. Bethesda Academy and Windsor Forest will wrap up scrimmage play on Friday, August 15.

Check out the full schedule below and get ready—Friday night lights are almost here!
