St. Vincent's

  • expand_more About This School

St. Vincent’s Academy in 1845, when Father Jeremiah Francis O’Neill brought six Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy from Charleston, South Carolina, to educate Savannah’s young women in the finest tradition of a Catholic educational institution. From the antebellum period to the present, St. Vincent’s has met the challenge of producing intellectual, responsible and compassionate women. Our thousands of alumnae have made and continue to make significant personal and professional contributions to the world.

St. Vincent’s has a long standing and honored tradition of excellence in competition and sportsmanship. The school offers 11 sports: volleyball, softball, cross country, basketball, swimming, rifle, sailing, soccer, tennis, golf and track. St. Vincent’s is a member of the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) and all student athletes are required to meet the academic standards of the GHSA and need to have a current physical on file with the Athletic Trainer prior to participating in any athletic activity. The St. Vincent’s Athletic department is served by a full time Athletic Trainer provided by St. Joseph’s Candler Health System.
