    South Effingham High School is one of two public high schools located in Effingham County, Georgia, northwest of Savannah. The school was created in 1996 when Effingham County High School was split. The Mustang Legend expands and grows every year through the numerous accomplishments of students and staff. South Effingham High School graduates attend universities and colleges throughout the country. Each year, the largest group of graduates attend Georgia Southern University. Mustangs create a feeling of American pride, youthful enthusiasm, and enduring strength.

    The South Effingham athletic department's goals are to to develop character, commitment, and teamwork among our athletes, as well as strength, conditioning, and skill. South Effingham High School believes wins are very important, but are more of a measuring stick than a goal. Coaches, athletes, and parents all play a role, and achieving the goal is important for reasons beyond athletics.
