Thomas Holland was asked to do a little bit of everything for Savannah Country Day, while Caden Thomas spent Friday night making life difficult for Statesboro’s offense.

Those performances earned the two local standouts Week 5 honors from the Savannah Quarterback Club.

Neal McCready was the guest speaker for the club’s Sept. 28 meeting. McCready is in his 18th year covering Ole Miss after previously covering the SEC and the New Orleans Saints for the Mobile Register.

Week 5 Offense

Holland carried the ball 28 times for 128 yards and a touchdown against Savannah Christian.

When an injury left Country Day needing help on defense, Holland stepped in and added seven tackles and an interception. The Davidson College commit earned the Week 5 Offensive Player of the Week award.

Week 5 Defense

Thomas recorded seven tackles, one sack, and four quarterback pressures in Benedictine’s victory over Statesboro.

The junior linebacker earned the Week 5 Defensive Player of the Week award.

The Savannah Quarterback Club is celebrating its 80th season and meets each Monday night at the American Legion at 1108 Bull Street.

Prep Sports Report will continue to feature the club’s weekly award winners throughout the 2026 season.
