Guyton's Adler Saxton, a homeschooled high school freshman, posted scores of 73-76 to finish 5-over par and earn a spot in a five-player playoff for the Boys 14-15 age group title at the Southeastern Junior Golf Tour's Jekyll Junior Classic played February 7-8 on the Dunes Course at the Jekyll Island Golf Club in Jekyll Island, Ga.

Saxton settled for a T2 finish when Aiden Wilkinson from Baxely, Ga., made a birdie on the first playoff hole to win the age group. Saxton led the age group alone at 4-over par before a bogey on the final hole of his second round dropped him into a tie with Wilkinson, Colin Ritz from Evans, Ga., Parker Gay from Hahira, Ga., and Crosby Revell from Carrollton, Ga.

Saxton's runnerup finish comes only a few weeks after he earned a first place finish in the Boys 14-15 age group in the weather-shortened SJGT SSI Junior at Sea Palms. After two events, Saxton leads the SJGT Male 14-15 Player of the Year standings with more than 1,600 points.

On the Girls 12-19 tournament, Savannah's Maya Lilja-Vazquez, a sophomore at Savannah Arts Academy, posted rounds of 78-81 to finish solo second behind winner Brooke Benedict from Atlanta.
