PIGSKIN ROUNDUP WEEK 1: Savannah Area High School Football: The Stars of the Show & Week 2 Schedule

Check out the Savannah Area high school football standout performers who dazzled on the field in Week 1, and see the Week 2 schedule below. Games are scheduled for Friday night, but may be moved to Saturday due to Hurricane Idalia.

Here are your standout performers for Week 1:

Benedictine vs. Chambers Benedictine 42-9

RaSean Matthews returned a kickoff 87 yards for a touchdown, caught a touchdown pass, and had an interception. Luke Kromenhoek passed for 109 yards and 3 touchdowns. Chris Frazier ran for an 87-yard touchdown. Bryce Baker also scored a rushing touchdown. Ladon Bryant had 2 receiving touchdowns. Will Albert had 20 tackles and an interception. Larson Little had 19 tackles and a fumble recovery. Herbert Scroggins had 13 tackles. Areyion Guyton had 10 tackles and a sack.

Bradwell vs. Liberty County Bradwell 26-13

BI - Christopher Garrett passed for 127 yards and 2 touchdowns. Wade Cobb ran for 101 yards and 2 touchdowns. Tyron Jones caught a touchdown pass. Bryant Thomas also caught a touchdown pass.

Bryan County vs. Treutlen Bryan County 51-0

Austin Clemons had 9 tackles, 1 forced fumble, and 3 tackles for loss. He also ran for 115 yards and 3 touchdowns. Tanner Ennis had 14 tackles, 2 hurries, and 3.5 tackles for loss. He also caught 2 passes for 95 yards and 2 touchdowns. Chris Winfrey had 9 tackles, 2 forced fumbles, and 1.5 sacks. Luke Holcombe had 8 tackles and 1 sack. Sean Kelly passed for 96 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Bethesda vs. John Paul II Bethesda 44-0

Noah Jenkins ran for 160 yards and 2 touchdowns. Caleb Dillon caught 3 passes for 93 yards. Triston Randall passed for 189 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also ran for 32 yards and a touchdown. Keshuan Wright and Kam Lanigan each had 2 sacks. Isaiah Reynolds also had 2 sacks.

Burke Co. vs. Effingham Burke Co. 10-6

ECHS - Nate Hayes passed for 134 yards and 1 touchdown.

Jenkins vs. Bluffton Jenkins 41-30

Ryan Scott ran for 132 yards and 1 touchdown. Lorenzo Cowan had 7 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and 1 tackle for loss. Jeremiah James ran for 56 yards and a touchdown. Tyler Ferguson ran for 1 yard and a touchdown. Trenton Rhodes ran for 1 yard and a touchdown. Jeremiah Simual returned an interception 85 yards for a touchdown. Sylvester Harris returned an interception 24 yards for a touchdown.

Memorial Day vs. Fullington Academy Memorial Day 14-0

Tyler Kindle threw a touchdown pass. Assir Best caught a touchdown pass. Charles Cappell had 9 tackles.

New Hampstead vs. Windsor Forest New Hampstead 59-6

RaShawn Truell passed for 210 yards and 3 touchdowns. Jaylen Hampton caught 5 passes for 104 yards and 2 touchdowns. Kamerion Blake-Maizes had 13 tackles and 2 sacks. Jordan Sonnabend had 7 tackles and 2 sacks.

Ware Co. vs. Richmond Hill Ware Co. 28-7

Kirk Scott passed for 95 yards and 1 touchdown. Joshua Troupe ran for 68 yards. Nick Bliss caught a touchdown pass. Gabe Bauman had 10 total tackles, including 7 solo tackles and 1 sack. Lee Johnson had 5 tackles and 2 tackles for loss. Phoenix Emberton had 5 tackles and 2 tackles for loss.

Savannah Christian vs. Islands Savannah Christian 56-14

SCPS - Zo Smalls ran for 87 yards and 3 touchdowns. Jamari McIvory returned a kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown, caught a touchdown pass, and returned a punt for a touchdown. Kenry Wall had 2 touchdowns, one rushing for 61 yards and one receiving for 46 yards. Blaise

Savannah Country Day vs. Pinewood Christian Savannah Country Day 52-0

Barton Mixon threw 18 of 21 passes for 338 yards and 5 touchdowns. Hyers Holland rushed for 101 yards and 1 touchdown. Keith James caught 5 passes for 164 yards and 2 touchdowns. Josh Washington caught 7 passes for 73 yards and 2 touchdowns. Brooks Kleinpeter caught 6 passes for 101 yards and 1 touchdown.

Valwood vs. St. Andrews Valwood 50-29

Zayden Edwards threw 7 of 13 passes for 141 yards and 3 touchdowns. Richard Williams caught 2 touchdown passes. Amari Cook rushed for 1 yard and 1 touchdown. Charles Strain caught 1 touchdown pass. Rakari Harrison had 2 tackles for loss. Joe Frazer had 6 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, and 1 forced fumble.
