A big time nationwide high school sports website, MaxPreps Sports, named rising senior Richmond Hill High School football player Nathan Vickers to its 2020 Georgia Preseason Football All-state first team. This is not the first honor to come to this standout football player. Vickers last season as a junior, earned Georgia Sports Writers Association Class 6A all-state honors, Georgia AthleticCoaches Association South 6A  first team defensvie linemen,  All-Defense first team by the Savannah Morning News, and the 2019 Class 6-A Region 2 Defensive Player of the Year. Nathan's 2019 statistics speak for themselves.

During the  season, Vickers had 84 tackles with 25 tackles for a loss (TFL) from his defensive end position. Out of the 25 TFL, 14 of them are quarterback sacks, along with one Forced Fumble and one Fumble Recovery. Coming from the outside teams to know where Nathan is lining up. Vickers also is a special teammate and player for the Wildcats.

Richmond Hill High School Head Coach Matt Lezotte said, “Nathan has been an outstanding kid, leader, and an unselfish teammate. He has been a starter since his freshman year. He started out as an offensive guard, because that’s what the team need.” On the field Vickers has a high motor according to Lezotte. “He comes off the edge, and he is relentless. You can say his motor sets him apart.  He is so quick. When he stepped on the field at the GACA Junior All-star game other coaches noticed Nathan was special. If he was bigger, the bigger schools would give him more interest.”  As of right now Presbyterian College has made an offer and he has a lot of other schools interested in him according to Lezotte.

Vickers is a player every coach wants on their team. Nathan is back this year for Wildcats as a role model of what a team player should be. Beside that, Nathan will lead a very strong Wildcat defense that is seeking to cause  havoc on the opposing teams they line up against. As far as after this year, with qualities such as unselfishness, a relentless motor, quickness, and the statistics to back up these attributes. Nathan will land somewhere and be a big-time teammate and college football player. MaxPreps has noticed this by naming him to the MaxPreps 2020 Georgia Preseason Football All-state first team.
