Rivers Hood T5 at US Kids Golf World Championship

Savannah's Rivers Hood posted a second round score of 2-under par 70 on Pinehurst No. 1 and is T5 in the Boys 9 age group at the US Kids Golf World Championships being played August 1-3 in Pinehurst, N.C.

Hood opened witih a first round score of Even par 72, and carded two birdies and an eagle during his second round to move up seven places on the leaderboard. With one round remaining, Hood is four strokes behind leaders Graham Schmidt from Andale, Kansas, and Tachin Thongrattana from Bangkok, Thailand.

Largely considered the largest and most prestigious youth golf tournament in the world, each year the U.S. Kids Golf World Championships welcomes golfers ages 5-12 to championship courses in the Pinehurst, N.C. The schedule consists of a Parade of Nations, Parent-Child Tournament, Trackman Demo Days, three rounds of championship play and the Closing Ceremony.
