Lillie Coffey, a junior setter for the Savannah Arts Academy volleyball team, has been named the Donatos/Prep Sports Report volleyball player of the week. Coffey was all over the court in the Panthers' sweep of Pierce County last week, recording 31 assists, six digs, and a pair of blocks. She also has 215 assists, 39 digs, 20 aces, and 10 kills on the year.
Coffey is a crucial player for the Panthers, who are currently 12-4 overall and 3-0 in GHSA Class AA Area 2, according to Arts Academy head coach Lauren Lord.
"Lillie is a mastermind behind our offense. She makes intelligent plays and runs our offense with ease. In Atlanta, a parent from another team told me that the setter was the most significant difference between our teams. Ours constantly hustled and never let the ball drop," said Lord. "She is a hard worker, and her success is a testament to that. On the season, Lillie this year already has over 200 assists. She is a machine, and I am so happy I have her for another year."
Congratulations, Lillie, on being the Donatos/Prep Sports Report volleyball player of the week. Suppose you have a volleyball player of the week. Just pass on this article to their coach so they can nominate your Donatos Volleyball Player of the Week.
