Savannah Quarterback Club Weekly award winners

The Savannah Quarterback Club has been a fall tradition in Savannah since being founded in 1946. Each year the club honors an offensive and defensive player of the week during each week of the high school football season, and the club has presented thousands of dollars in scholarship money to graduating high school seniors during its history.

Although the 2020 season is unlike any other, the Savannah Quarterback Club has faithfully kept its pledge to honor an offensive and defensive player of the week each week. The full list of award recipients for the 2020 football season through the first six weeks of the season:

Week Six

The Savannah Quarterback Club offensive player of the week is Jenkins senior Damozzi Harris. He rushed for 175 yards and two touchdowns and added a two-point conversion in a 41-0 win over Beach

The Savannah Quarterback Club defensive player of the week is Savannah Chrisitan senior Bradley Anderson. He had 16 tackles (nine solo), three tackles for a loss and a pair of forced fumbles in a 40-11 win over Mount de Sales Academy.

Week Five

The Savannah Quarterback Club offensive player of the week for week five was Islands High School's Jadon Adams. The senior quarterback proved to be a dynamic dual threat, completing 5-of-9 passes for 169 yards and two scores while rushing for 93 yards and two touchdowns in a 26-8 win over Jenkins.

The Savannah Quarterback Club defensive player of the week for week five was New Hampstead's Noddy Thomas. The senior had a pair of interceptions in the end zone to help preserve a 7-6 win over Windsor Forest.

Week Four

The Savannah Quarterback Club offensive player of the week for week four was Benedictine quarterback Holden Geriner. The junior was 12-of-16 passing for 310 yards and four scores and two of his scoring passes went for more than 50 yards. He also added 37 yards rushing and a score on four carries. His efforts helped the cadets claim a 49-35 win at North Oconee to improve to 4-0 on the season. 

The Savannah Quarterback Club defensive player of the week for week four was Bethesda Academy's Carlton Brown. The dual threat senior caught two passes for 99 yards on offense, but he shined on defense with 14 tackles, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in a win over Hilton Head Prep.

Week Three

The Savannah Quarterback Club offensive player of the week for week three was Calvary Day School's Gregg Daniel. The senior, who has committed to play collegiately at Army, ran for 165 yards on 24 carries with two touchdowns in a 27-7 over Frederica Academy.

The Savannah Quarterback Club defensive player of the week for week three was Benedictine senior defensive lineman Brady Seyden, whose efforts helped stop a late rally and secure a 21-16 win over Brunswick. Seyden had eight tackles, including two tackles for a loss, in the victory. 

Week Two

The Savannah Quarterback Club offensive player of the week was Memorial Day School running back Cameron Hall. The senior rushed for 156 yards and a score, ran back a punt for a score and returned a kickoff for a touchdown as he racked up 321 all-purpose yards in the Matadors’ win over Griffin Christian.

The Savannah Quarterback Club defensive player of the week was Savannah Christian linebacker Peyton Cromwell. The junior racked up 13 total tackles, four of which were solo tackles, as well as a sack in the Raiders’ win over Screven County.

Week One

The Savannah Quarterback Club offensive player of the week quarterback was Antjuan McKay of Bethsesda Academy. McKay threw for 262 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 143 yards and two scores. he also contributed on defense with five tackles and an interception in the Blazers’ 36-28 loss to Beaufort Academy.

The Savannah Quarterback Club defensive player of the week for week one was Benedictine linebacker Holden Sapp. Holden had a dominant performance in BC’s 58-26 win over Burke County with 10 total tackles, including five solo tackles, one hurry and one and half sacks for a 12 yard loss.
