Are You Ready, Savannah: Playoff Football Collides With Full Basketball Slate Tonight

Savannah Area Football Playoff Preview

Five Savannah-area teams continue their postseason runs this week in the GHSA and SCISA playoffs. Benedictine, Jenkins, Calvary Day, Savannah Christian, and Bethesda Academy all take the field in high-stakes matchups across Georgia and South Carolina.


TODAY – FRIDAY FOOTBALL GAMES

King’s Ridge (8–3) at Calvary Day (9–1)

Friday, 6:30 p.m., Calvary Day School, Savannah, Ga. — GHSA A–3A Private second round
Calvary returns from a bye seeking a spot in the GHSA quarterfinals, facing a triple-option King’s Ridge team.

Christian Heritage (7–3) at Savannah Christian (6–4)

Friday, 7 p.m., Pooler Stadium, Pooler, Ga. — GHSA A–3A Private second round
Savannah Christian, aiming to advance to the quarterfinals, relies on dual-threat quarterback Blaise Thomas as both teams return from byes.

Cass (9–2) at Benedictine (8–2)

Friday, 7:30 p.m., Memorial Stadium, Savannah, Ga. — GHSA Class 4A second round
Benedictine plays for a quarterfinal berth as Cass brings a strong running attack to town, but the Colonels must face a tough Cadet defense on Savannah’s home turf.. 

Peach County (10–1) at Jenkins (10–1)

Friday, 7:30 p.m., Groves Stadium, Savannah, Ga. — GHSA Class 3A second round
Jenkins, now one win from the quarterfinals, tries to ride last week’s comeback magic against a high-powered Peach County offense.


TOMORROW – SATURDAY FOOTBALL GAME

Bethesda Academy (11–0) vs. Pee Dee Academy (8–3)

Saturday, noon, South Carolina State University, Orangeburg, S.C. — SCISA Class 2A state championship
Bethesda plays for an undefeated season and its second SCISA 2A state title in three years in a rematch of last month’s blowout win.
