More than 15 years ago, St. Vincent’s Academy Pink Night began as a fundraiser to support breast cancer research. What began as a regular-season volleyball match between the Calvary Cavaliers and the St. Vincent’s Saints has grown into one of the year's most meaningful traditions.
A few years ago, the Benedictine Cadets earned their place in the tradition. When they asked what they had to do to be part of Pink Night, they were told, “Raise $500, and you’re in.” Within just 15 minutes, the Cadets had raised the $500, and a new Pink Night tradition was born.
Today, Pink Night brings SVA and BC together for a night of sibling-school camaraderie, friendly competition, and, most importantly, raising money for an incredible cause. Last year alone, the Saints Volleyball team raised $13,000 to support breast cancer research and the Mary Telfair Mammography Fund!
Pink Night is about so much more than volleyball. It reminds us of the impact our community can make as we come together for something bigger than ourselves.
Pink Night is set for Thursday, October 1, in the St. Vincent’s Academy gym. Doors open at 5 p.m. The junior varsity match starts at 5:30 p.m., followed by varsity at 7 p.m.
The St. Vincent’s Saints invite you to join us next Thursday, October 1st, in the SVA gym as we take on the Cadets and continue with this incredible tradition.
