Bryan County built a 5-run lead going into the fifth inning and it looked like clear sailing for the Redskins versus Portal High School. The Panthers didn’t quit. Portal High School then made a comeback that fell short by one run. The Redskins clinched the region title by holding on with 5-4 victory. Bryan County as of right now has a 24-3 overall record with one game remaining to play in the regular season.

Highlights were Mackenzie Mobley who went 2 for 4 at the plate leading the Redskins in hits. Hayden Joyner got the win tossing a complete game, 7 innings, allowing 9 hits, 4 runs while striking out 9 Panther batters. The Redskins will host a first-round playoff game next week in the Georgia High School State Association fast-pitch Class A softball tournament.
