The Calvary Day School girl's basketball team emerged victorious when it counted the most yesterday by beating Savannah Country Day School 46-38 to claim the region championship. The two teams faced off twice in the regular season, with SCDS winning both games.

The first Time the Lady Cavaliers visited, SCDS won with a score of 46-44. When Calvary Day hosted SCDS, the Lady Hornets won 55-49 again. However, Calvary Day finished strong in the third game when it counted for the "Region Ship" and came out on top. The Lady Cavaliers were led by Zora Geiger, who scored 14 points, most of which were made inside the court, and pulled down 13 rebounds. Junior Bre Jones made an effort on both ends of the court and scored 13 points with five steals. The co-Players of the Year for Region 3-3A are Destini Gooddine from Calvary and Stella Oelschig from Savannah Country Day. Calvary Day School's Head Coach, Daniel Jackson, claimed his first region title in his debut year as the Lady Cavaliers' head coach.

The Cavaliers improved their season record to 20-5 and are scheduled to host Pike County (9-14) on Tuesday or Wednesday.
