Coach's Comments:
"We had a huge hole to fill when Hannah Cail left. We knew Clayton had a big arm, but she never played quarterback. She worked all summer playing club flag football with Team Savannah to improve and continues to show she can do it. She is still learning to read defenses but gets better every game. She embraces the growing pains and handles them very well," said Calvary Coach Nick Grassi. "She has a bright future at QB. We have put her through the grinder. We played all the state's top teams early in the season. We fell short but made comebacks in each of the games. They were all one play away from a different outcome. She has become a leader on the team as well. With one senior and four juniors, we are very young. McKenzie has showed a lot of grittiness and toughness."
Note: How are players nominated for the Grassi Roofing Prep Sports Report Flag Football player of the week? Tell your coach to select a player from your team by the Monday following the week of play. Then the player's coach should send the nominee (s) for the Grassi Roofing Prep Sports Report Flag Football player of the week to the PSR. Then the Prep Sports Report selects the player to be posted on the PSR website and social media sources.
