Six receiving touchdowns, two defensive scores, three interceptions, and four wins. Not a bad week for a junior.

Calvary Day School's Rily Grassi put up those numbers in four games last week, earning the Prep Sports Report/Grassi Roofing Flag Football Player of the Week honor.

Grassi, a wide receiver and linebacker for the Cavaliers, made plays on both sides of the football as Calvary outscored its four opponents 156-0.The junior caught 19 passes for 158 yards and six touchdowns during the four-game stretch.

Grassi opened the week with four catches for 38 yards and three touchdowns in a 40-0 win over Effingham County on Oct. 19.

Two days later, she caught six passes for 60 yards and two touchdowns in a 47-0 win over Savannah High. She added four catches for 31 yards and another score that same day in a 19-0 win over New Hampstead.

Grassi closed out the week with five catches for 29 yards in a 50-0 win over Savannah Christian on Oct. 22.

But she wasn't just catching touchdown passes.

On defense, Grassi recorded seven flag pulls, three interceptions, and returned two for touchdowns.

Calvary Day coach Nick Grassi said her ability to make plays on both sides of the ball has been important to the Cavaliers.

"Rily is a top target on the offensive side of the ball. She really knows how to get open and once she catches the ball and she knows how to extend the play with her pitching. Defensively she’s leading our team at backer with flag pulls and has great instincts for the ball. She loves the game and you can see it in her on the field," Grassi said.

Eight touchdowns in four games tell the story. Whether catching passes or pulling flags, Grassi made her presence felt throughout the week.

Congratulations to Rily Grassi, the Prep Sports Report/Grassi Roofing Flag Football Player of the Week.
