SAVANNAH, Ga. — The countdown is over! Three Days to kick off! Game week has arrived for Georgia High School Association (GHSA) Class A DI and DII Region 3 squads, and the familiar mix of proven contenders, rebuilding programs, and hungry newcomers promises an electric start to the 2025 high school football season.
Savannah Christian enters the year as a heavyweight, fresh off a 10-1 season. Head coach Baker Woodward leads a deep roster, anchored by returning QB Blaise Thomas and a seasoned offensive line. Their motto is simple: trust the process. “Trust in God, trust in each other, and trust in our coaches,” Woodward said. “That trust could be the difference between wins and losses.” The Raiders open on the road Aug. 15 against Whitefield Academy.
Across town, Savannah Country Day begins the Joey Blackmore era, leaning on a physical front and new QB Devin Trawick. “We need to welcome adversity — can’t wait for it to show up,” Blackmore said.
Bryan County looks to accelerate the growth of a young core, starting a freshman quarterback in Week 1. Meanwhile, Savannah High turns the page under first-year head coach Moses Green, determined to build a winning culture with the “All In” motto.
In South Carolina Indepentant Schools Association (SCISA), Bethesda Academy and veteran coach Antwain Turner eye another playoff run, while in Georgia Independant Athletic Association (GIAA), St. Andrew’s builds on Year 2 of its flexbone triple option.
Kickoff weekend starts Friday, Aug. 15, with matchups across the Coastal Empire, setting the tone for a season where every snap counts. Catch the information and schedules below, including complete GHSA A Division I and II, SCISA, and GIAA team capsules with rosters, coach insights, and full-season matchups.
