Champions! Habersham Girls XC Takes GAPPS Title & Boy's Cleland Blazes!

At the Georgia Premier XC course, the Habersham School Varsity Girls Cross Country team claimed the Georgia Association of Private & Parochial Schools (GAPPS) State Championship on October 23, 2024, in Macon, Georgia. Leading the Habersham School, Sadie McGarity finished 4th at 20:13, and Gaby Kenard took 9th at 21:23. The Lady Patriots finished first with 65 points, followed by second-place Lanier Christian Academy (69 points) and third-place Konos Academy (84 points). Below are the results of the Habersham girls' team.

Results for the Habersham's School Girls team in the Division II 5K:

Sadie McGarity, fr. - 4th place, 20:13.00

Gaby Kenard, fr. - 9th place, 21:23.63

Eliana Beckman, 8th - 15th place, 22:09.08

Holland Hogan, 7th - 22nd place, 22:36.86

Zoie Hohnerlein, sr. - 25th place, 23:14.88

Ivy-Ann Hogan, so. - 29th place, 23:50.29

Lauren Beaumont, so. - 30th place, 23:56.42

 

The boys' team also made a strong showing, finishing third overall. Harry Cleland led the way, claiming the GAPPS Individual Boy's State Champion by finishing in 1st place with an impressive time of 15:51—just one second shy of the course record. Teammate Daniil Phillips added to the team's success, placing 12th in 17:08. The Patriots finished third behind Johnson Ferry Christian (37 points), Fideles Christian (51 points), and Habersham (89 points). Below are Habesham's team results.
