Three standout Savannah-area athletes—Richmond Hill’s Talia Johnson, Islands’ Olivia Kiley, and Savannah Arts Academy’s Charlotte Browne—have been named Coach’s Corner Volleyball Players of the Week for September 8–14 after leading their teams with stellar performances.
Richmond Hill senior outside hitter Talia Johnson turned in an outstanding week, finishing with 55 kills across seven matches. She now has 183 kills and over 30 aces this season. Head coach Danielle Ennis praised Johnson’s leadership: “Talia Johnson is a player every coach wants. She is a great leader on and off the court, incredibly talented, and driven. She challenges teammates to be their best, wants team success, owns her mistakes, and celebrates the team before herself.”

Her hard work and positive attitude not only elevated their own game but inspired the entire team. For consistently giving 100% and making an impact every play, they truly deserve to be Player of the Week.”

Savannah Arts Academy junior middle hitter Charlotte Browne, who was named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association's (AVCA) Phenom Players to Watch List before the season, had a strong week with 37 kills, 11 aces, 16 blocks, and 20 digs last week. Browne now leads Class 2A in total blocks (48) and has 94 kills this season. Head coach Lauren Lord praised her rising presence. “This player deserves to be the Coach's Corner Pizza Volleyball Player of the Week because her stats keep growing from week to week. She is starting to prove that she is a force in the middle and becoming one of the top middles in the southeast. In 2A, she is leading the blocker with 48 total blocks. This season alone, she has had 94 kills.”
