Coastal Empire junior golfers earn top 5 finishes at iGEN National Championship at Sea Trail Resort

The iGEN National Championship at Sea Trail Resort played January 17-18 in Sunset, N.C., had a distinctly Savannah flare. 

Savannah middle schooler Rivers Hood started the tournament with a score of 8-under par 64 and finished with a 27-hole total of 7-under par in the weather-abbreviated Boys 9-11 age division. In the Boys 12-14 age group, Savannah's Zach Dao posted scores of 73-80 to finish 9-over par and T2, only one stroke behind the winning score of 8-over par shared by Jackson Bishop of Spartanburg, S.C., and Grayson Cook of Chesterfield, N.J. 

And in the Boys 15-18 age group, a pair of sophomores at Benedictine Military School finished top 5 in cold, windy and rainy conditions. Savannah's Finn Nixon posted scores of 80-82 to finish third at and BC classmate Alex Dao, the older brother of Zach Dao, turned in scores of 83-80 to finish fourth.
