It is a tradition to hold high school sports senior night celebrations as the final regular-season home game in a high school athlete's career. This year, 2020 has been anything but normal. The year has caught the world off guard by the side-effects of the coronavirus pandemic and high school sport traditions as well.
Sports programs have made changes and the teams around the Coastal Empire have moved up senior nights to guarantee recognizing their seniors because they have uncertainty of what else 2020 might bring. Effingham County High School’s volleyball program did this on August 27th in a volleyball Tri-match versus Southeast Bulloch and cross-county rival South Effingham High School.
The Rebel seniors honored were outside hitter Sara Lindsay, libero co-captain Sara Bevill, outside hitter co-captain Kinley Tucker, and defensive specialist Addison Lovett. This was also a night to honor the seniors parents. The athletes and parents have put so much into their sport. All involved need to be regonized.

Even though the Rebels split in the Tri-match, defeating Southeast Bulloch in two straight sets, 25-22, 22-14 and losing in three games to the Mustangs 8-25, 29-27, and 11-15 in the tienreaker game. It was a night to remember for the Rebels senior. The ECHS volleyball program honored their four seniors and parents. That’s what matter honoring these hardworking prep athletes! As they say in the 'Ham, As Always Go Rebels!
A big thank you to photographer Birk Herrath for loving high school sports and sending the pictures from the Rebels senior night onto the Prep Sports Report.
