St. Andrew’s continued its strong run in region play Tuesday night, defeating Frederica 58–46 at home to improve to 10–5 overall and 2–0 in the region. The victory marked the Lions’ 14th consecutive win over Frederica, a streak that now dates back to 2019. Frederica fell to 6–7 overall and 2–1 in region play with the loss.
The game opened with a physical, half-court feel, as Frederica looked to slow the pace and keep the contest close early. St. Andrew’s gradually asserted control behind interior scoring and disciplined defense, building a 30–18 halftime lead by consistently finishing in the paint and limiting Frederica’s perimeter looks.
St. Andrew’s took firm control in the third quarter, pushing the lead to 22 points by the end of the period with a decisive stretch on both ends of the floor. The highlight of the quarter came when Ja’Cari Glover secured a defensive rebound, went coast-to-coast, and finished with a one-handed dunk over Frederica’s big man, igniting the home crowd and punctuating the Lions’ dominance. Frederica continued to battle in the fourth quarter, chipping away at the deficit and narrowing the final margin, but St. Andrew’s never allowed the outcome to come into question as the Lions closed out the victory.
Glover delivered a dominant performance, finishing with 25 points and 13 rebounds for his 10th double-double of the season, anchoring the Lions on both ends of the floor. His efficiency and physical presence set the tone throughout the night. Page Getter added 13 points, providing spacing and timely perimeter shooting, while Amari Cook guided the offense with poise, contributing 11 points and 9 assists as he consistently created opportunities for teammates.
With the win, the Lions strengthened their position in the region standings and continued a stretch of confident play. St. Andrew’s will be back in action Friday night, traveling to Augusta to take on Westminster in another key region matchup.
