High School Cross Country: Benedictine, The Habersham School Big Meet Wins Individually & As a Team

Last weekend two local cross country programs came home with medals. On Saturday, Junior John Dodson of Benedictine Military School was the individual winner of the Jackets Catch' Em Invitational in Evans County, Georgia. Dodson ran the 5,000-meter race in 17:18.70 and defeated 50 other runners to win the event! 

Dodson ran the 5,000-meter race in 17:18.70 and defeated 50 other runners to win the event!  Benedictine junior Harrison Montavon finished seventh with a time of 19:25.80, while BC sophomore Jett Sumner was 20th with a time of 21:23.00. BC junior Garner Mobley came in 23rd with a time of 21:58.20, while BC senior Will Kearson finished 26th at 22:20.80. BC junior Will Stutzman and BC freshman Jack Deen were 27th and 29th, respectively, in times of 22:31.00 and 22:53.50. 

The Habersham School's Boys Cross Country team won the Cannonball Run, held at Middle Georgia State University's Georgia Premier Cross Country track in Macon, GA. Nick Aldrich, who finished second in 19:00, Daniil Phillips, who finished fourth in a time of 19:31, and Henry Brooks, who finished eighth in a time of 20:08, were the Patriots' top runners. Anna Grace Sherrod, who finished 15th overall, led the Habersham girls team to third place.
