Richmond Hill's Lou Kivett carded scores of 37-35 to finish at Even par and T5 in the 10-under age group at the Press Thornton Future Masters played June 22-23 at Dothan Country Club in Dothan, Alabama.
The Press Thornton Future Masters Golf Tournament, which is in its 75th year, is one of the most tradition rich junior golf tournament in the world. An impressive list of golfing greats who have competed in the tournament includes past U.S. Open champions Hubert Green and Jerry Pate, Masters winners Larry Mize, Bubba Watson, Trevor Immelman and Scottie Scheffler, PGA champions Bob Tway, Mark Brooks and Shawn Micheel, and British Open winner Ben Curtis.
Kivett finished tied with Nihaal Cheema from Chandigarh, India, Cason Gisner from Gunter, Texas, Kai Nybeck from Franklin, Tennessee and Myles Branta from Pewaukee, Wisconsin. He was only two strokes behind champion Cole Burris from Canton, Georgia.
