Savannah Area Volleyball Teams Spike for Playoff Positions in Final Weeks!

As we reach Week 6 of the Georgia High School Association (GHSA), Georgia Independent Athletic Association (GIAA), and the Georgia Association of Parochial and Private Schools (GAPPS) volleyball season, Savannah area teams are trying to position themselves in region play and area standings.

In the GHSA, Richmond Hill remains the leader in Region 6A with an undefeated region record of 5-0. Meanwhile, South Effingham is right behind first-place Glynn Academy in Region 6A Area 1 South Division. Calvary is the leader in Region 3A Area 3 at 6-0. Savannah Arts Academy is the frontrunner in Region 2A Area 3 at 5-0. Savannah Christian is 8-0 in Region 1A Area 3 and is looking to host the region tournament if they remain undefeated.

In the GIAA, St. Andrew's continues to impress with a 15-1 overall record. In GAPPS DI-A Region 4, the Habersham School, at 5-1, is right behind Alleluia Community, which leads the pack with a perfect 7-0 region standing.

As we approach the final week of play, the competition is heating up. Teams are giving their all to secure their spots in the postseason, making every match crucial in the playoff chase. The upcoming matches are sure to be intense and full of surprises, so stay tuned! The standings below were posted on the MaxPreps Sports website as of September 16, 2024.
