Savannah Christian's volleyball team opened its season with a win over Richmond HIll High School in a match played at Eckburg Arena on the SCPS campus.
The Raiders defeated the Wildcats 25-15, 25-20, 25-20 in the best three out of five format. Emma Lee recorded 6 kills and 7 digs; Lexi Polychrones had 9 kills, 15 assists and 3 aces; Danielle Rhodes had 10 kills and 2 block assists; and Logan Jones had 15 digs and 5 aces.
SCPS started the season 1-0, and Richmond Hill is now 1-1.

The "Coach" Karl DeMasi has been teaching and coaching for the past 35 years on all levels of academia and athletics. One of his hobbies has been writing, announcing and talking about sports. DeMasi has been involved in the Savannah Area sports scene since 1995, and he created the high school magazine "The Prep Sports Report" in 2000. In 2010, the "Coach" started broadcasting The Karl DeMasi Sports Report. He's still going strong, broadcasting on Facebook live and Twitter live every Saturday morning. You gotta love it!
