Savannah Country Day School celebrated two major volleyball achievements when Hornet standouts junior Olivia Aliotta and senior Boots Buckler were named this week’s Coach’s Corner Volleyball Players of the Week. Both players hit career milestones that highlight their impact on the program.
Aliotta, a junior outside hitter, achieved the 500 career kills mark last week and quickly pushed that total to 547 after a double-double against Effingham County with 14 kills and 13 digs. Head coach Kyla King praised her for her drive and determination. “Olivia’s relentless work ethic and determination have set her apart this season. Reaching 500 kills is a remarkable milestone, but pushing past it to 547—with five matches still to go—shows just how impactful she is on the court. Her drive and consistency make her more than deserving of Player of the Week.”
Buckler, a senior setter, also reached a career milestone by recording her 500th assist in a match against Southeast Bulloch. She has since raised that total to 557. King credited her senior leadership and consistency. “Boots Buckler’s senior experience and leadership shine through in every match. Reaching the 500-assist milestone was an incredible accomplishment, but she’s already pushed that number to 557, with more opportunities ahead. Her consistency, vision on the court, and commitment to her teammates make her a true leader and more than deserving of Player of the Week.”
Savannah Country Day continues to build momentum in the regular season with Aliotta and Buckler leading the way.
