Savannah's Nixon, Richmond Hill's Mohler tied for lead at NB3 Junior Masters

Savannah's Finn Nixon, a sophomore at Benedictine Military School, and Richmond Hill's Alexa Mohler, a junior at Richmond Hill High School, both shot under par and were tied for the lead after one round at the NB3 Junior Masters being played April 3-4 at Bartram Trail Golf Club in Augusta, Ga. 

The tournament serves as a qualifier for the Notah Begay Junior Golf National Championship Regional Final. The Georgia Regional Finals will be played June 30 through July 1 at Bartram Trail Golf Course and the Girls Regional Final will be played June 27-28 at Cateechee Golf Club in Hartwell, Ga. 

Nixon, playing in the Boys 16-18 division, posted a score of 2-under par 70 to tied for the first round lead with Pierce Grant from Lookout Mountain, Tennessee. Nixon carded five birdies during his first round. 

Mohler, playing in the Girls 16-18 division, also posted a score of 2-under 70 and carded four birdies in her first round. Mohler held a one stroke lead over Lyles Heritage from Lexington, S.C. entering the second round.
