St. Vincent's Academy Rifle Team Hit their First Target Yesterday

St. Vincent's Academy Rifle team hit their first target yesterday in the Georgia High School Association Riflery sectionals. The Saints defeated Dalton High School 1106 to 1093. Five out of six schools from the GHSA Riflery Area 3 have advanced onto the state semi-finals, St. Vincent's, Camden County, Glynn Academy, Southeast Bulloch, and Ware County. The sixth team Benedictine shoots today at Ringgold High School in hopes of also advancing.
 
St.Vincent's and Dalton High School shot in three competition positions – standing, kneeling, and prone with the possibility of scoring a perfect 1200. The teams fired five shooters, and the top four scores count. 
The top shooter for St. Vincent's was senior Kameron Addison, with a score of 281 out of 300. Then senior Mallory Mesaros scored 279, followed by freshman Autumn Wolff at 274, and senior Madeline Mesaros a 272. 

The Saints travel to Douglasville, Georgia, to shoot against the #1 seed out of Area 7 Douglas High School on Thursday, March 31, 2022. If the Saints win, they will move onto the GHSA Championships the weekend of April 22-23, 2022, at the Georgia Southern.
