The Habersham Patriots Volleyball Team Spikes Comebacks for 4th Region Title

The Habersham School won the GAPPS DI-A Region 4 region championship last night in Brunswick, beating Trinity Christian in the first match 25-7, 25-8, 25-14 and then defeating Veritas Academy in a come from behind 5 set victory for the championship. 

In the first match, the Lady Patriots were led by Anna Thompson with 13 kills, Jenna Kate Welch with five kills, Simmons Key with six aces, and Lucy Kelly with six aces and 17 assists. In the finals, Habersham won 25-20, 16-25, 18-25, 25-13, 15-12. Again, it was Thompson leading the way with 16 kills, five aces; Welch with 12 kills, 21 digs; Anna Livingood with 16 digs, and Lucy Kelly with three aces, three kills, and 21 assists. Thompson, Welch, Kelly, and Livingood were also named All-Region players. 

This marks the 4th straight region championship for the Lady Patriots and 6th in the last seven years. As the #1 seed from the region, they will now host the first round of state on Tuesday.
