The entire St. Andrew’s School student body celebrated three senior student-athletes who signed their national letters of intent to continue their academic and athletic careers at the collegiate level. Nadya Doscher, Sage Cahan, and Addi Yates have each impacted the school through their achievements on and off the field.

Nadya Doscher – Soccer, Montclair State

St. Andrew’s School senior Nadya Doscher is headed to New Jersey to play college soccer at Montclair State University, an NCAA Division III program in the New Jersey Athletic Conference.

For Nadya, the decision was about more than just soccer—it was about finding a second home.

“When I visited Montclair, I just fell in love with the environment,” she said. “I used to live up north, and going back felt like home. I met the team, and they felt like family.”

As a fourth grader with big dreams, Nadya’s journey started at St. Andrew’s. Over the years, she became a leader and role model for younger students.

“I love St. Andrew’s and how it’s grown into a real community,” she said. “Seeing first graders bring out banners for us during games—it reminded me that this is the kind of place I want to be part of.”

As a goalkeeper, Nadya thrives in high-pressure moments. “I love how intense it gets. Goalkeepers need to be strong mentally and physically, and I just love being in the middle of it all,” she said.

Off the field, Nadya plans to study visual arts at Montclair State. She says the academic challenges at St. Andrew’s have prepared her well for what’s ahead.

“My time here helped me find out who I wanted to be,” Nadya said. “Now, I’m excited to grow even more in college—on the field and in the classroom.”

Sage Cahan – Soccer, USC Upstate Soccer

St. Andrew’s School senior Sage Cahan is taking his talents to the NCAA Division I level after committing to play soccer at the University of South Carolina Upstate.

Cahan, a key player for the St. Andrew’s boys’ soccer team, said USC Upstate stood out because of the coaching staff and the opportunity to be part of a complete program rebuild.

“It was my only Division I offer, but I had a lot of interest from other schools,” Cahan said. “When I met the coaches and players, it just clicked. They came over from Coker and are building the program from the ground up. The coach told me I’d be a big part of it, and that really excited me.”

Cahan is a versatile player who can play as a winger, midfielder, or wingback. His leadership skills, developed during his years at St. Andrew’s, will be key at the next level.

“Being at a smaller school helped me learn how to lead,” he said. “I got the chance to help my team win some important games, and I’m proud of that.”

Cahan also praised his St. Andrew’s entire experience.

“It means everything,” he said. “From athletics and academics to the coaches, teachers, and teammates—the support here is amazing.”

At USC Upstate, Cahan plans to study physical therapy while making an impact on and off the field.

“I love the game and want to stay around it as long as I can,” he said. “This is where I want to be.”

Addi Yates – Volleyball, Methodist University

St. Andrew’s School senior Addi Yates has officially signed to play volleyball at Methodist University, continuing a standout athletic and academic journey.

A multi-sport athlete, Yates has made her mark in volleyball, basketball, flag football, and track. She served as a team captain on the volleyball team, played as a defensive specialist, and earned All-Region and GIAA All-Star honors.

“I grew up in a house full of athletes, so playing sports in college was always a goal,” said Yates. “When I visited Methodist and had dinner with a couple of the girls on the team, I felt like I belonged. The support system there really stood out to me.”

At St. Andrew’s, Yates balanced athletics with academics through the rigorous International Baccalaureate program. She credits the school’s challenges for preparing her for what’s next.

“I know that when I get to college, I’ll be more than ready—especially academically,” she said. “The IB program helped me build strong study habits and pushed me to be my best.”

Yates will major in kinesiology on a pre-med track at Methodist University. Her academic goal? Medical school.

“I want to go into medicine and help others,” she said. “I’m going to work hard, trust my teammates, and follow the example of those who’ve done it before me.”

At St. Andrew's School, the community celebrates all its student-athletes, and it has been a banner year for all Lions!
