SAVANNAH, Ga. - Tuesday evening, something remarkable happened on a volleyball court in Savannah, Georgia. A Saints volleyball player made history with a big block!

Mattie Lynch, a St. Vincent's Academy senior, blocked the ball early in the contest against Calvary Day School for her 223 block to break the school record and pass Emma Cowart, who will graduate in 2021.

The Saints won the region match by a score of 2-1. SVA also went against Hilton Head High School and lost 2-0. Right now, the Saints are 10-6 overall and sit atop Georgia High School Association 3A Area 3 volleyball with a 4-0 record.

SVA's next match is Thursday at Savannah Arts Academy versus the Arts Academy and Effingham County high school.
