With the season’s midway point behind us, Week #7 brings region battles, road tests, and showdowns. After rivalry wins, weather-shortened games, and offensive fireworks, here’s the upcoming slate and question marks.

Storylines to Watch in Week 7

  • Can Benedictine rise to the challenge at unbeaten Ware County?
  • Will Richmond Hill shake off last week’s weather-shortened setback?
  • Does Liberty County vs. SE Bulloch emerge as the region’s most pivotal midseason matchup?
  • How will Savannah Christian respond in its showcase game against Blessed Trinity at Georgia Southern?

PREVIEW

Richmond Hill at Tift County

After a weather-shortened loss to Buchholtz (FL) ended Richmond Hill's unbeaten run, Coach Matt LeZotte’s Wildcats (4–1) face another tough road test at Tift County. Richmond Hill’s defense looks to set the tone as the offense tries to rebound.

Bradwell Institute at Greenbrier

Building off a 38–28 loss to Statesboro, where Jah’Barri Felix threw three touchdowns, Bradwell (1–3) takes its offensive momentum to Greenbrier for Region 1-5A play.

Lakeside-Evans at Effingham County

After a rivalry win led by Jmere Doe-Davis and QB Tucker Perkins, Effingham County (3–2, 2–1) hosts winless Lakeside-Evans as the favorite.

South Effingham at Evans

After last week's flashes against Effingham, South Effingham (1–3) visits Evans, hoping to reduce turnovers and lean on running back Khyran White for stability.

Benedictine at Ware County

With rust gone after a 56–7 win over Westminster, the Cadets (2–2) brace for a tough test. Their road trip to unbeaten Ware County (5–0) is one of the state’s top games, promising a physical four-quarter battle as Coach Danny Britt’s squad seeks to prove itself.

The breakdown via Georgia High School Football Daily:

Perry at New Hampstead

After a bye, New Hampstead (1-4) and RB Cristen Kinlaw who again was a key factor against Pierce County with 166 yards rushing with two touchdowns and he leads the Phoienix into the first Region 1-4A matchup against Perry (2-3), needing more big plays to compete.

Southeast Bulloch at Liberty County

With both teams uptrending, Liberty (4–1, 3–1) follows Elijah Brown’s 201 rushing yards in a 34–8 win, while SE Bulloch (3–2) impressed against Windsor Forest. This game could help determine the outcome of the Region 3-3A playoff race.

Bryan County at Claxton

The Redskins (3–2) look to bounce back from a turnover-heavy loss to ECI. Expect running backs Gerbravion Colling and Buck McKinney to spark the offense against winless Claxton (0–5).

Savannah High at Portal

The Blue Jackets (0–4) pursue their first win at Portal. Bluejackets need consistant execution and ball control are key to get a victory.

St. Andrew’s at Robert Toombs

Both teams are 2–3, and though it isn’t a region game, opportunity knocks. St. Andrew’s aims for momentum into the season’s second half; Robert Toombs looks to protect home turf.

Blessed Trinity vs. Savannah Christian (at Georgia Southern)

Savannah Christian (3–2) caps the slate with a showcase game at Georgia Southern against Blessed Trinity (3-2). The Raiders, after mixed performances, need a complete effort against one of Georgia’s top programs.

The following teams are on a bye week: Beach, Bethesda, Calvary, Groves, Islands, Jenkins, Johnson, Savannah Country Day, and Windsor Forest.
