Richmond Hill High School has long history of athletic and extracurricular excellence. In the 2006-2007 season, RHHS's marching band won grand champion at the Coastal Marching Competition, and former Richmond Hill quarterback Nick Fitzgerald played Mississippi State University in the Southeastern Conference. The boys' basketball team won three state championships from 1988 through 1994, and more recently the school has sent student athletes to collegiate athletic careers in soccer, softball and cross country.
