ATLANTA, Ga. — The Savannah area continues to prove it’s home to elite football talent. In his July 16 episode of the Matt Stewart Sports High School Football Podcast, Emmy-winning broadcaster Matt Stewart named seven local standouts to his Private 1A–3A All-State team.

Leading the way from Calvary Day School, junior quarterback James Mobley earned recognition after throwing for 2,569 yards, 36 touchdowns, and only three interceptions last season. He was named Region 3-3A Co-Offensive Player of the Year. Protecting him up front was fellow junior Lawson Bentley, a 6’4", 280-pound offensive lineman and the only junior OL on Stewart’s list.

Defensively, Calvary’s Brexton Bell and Emerson Lewis earned nods in the secondary. Bell has totaled 130 career tackles and 20 tackles for loss, while Lewis posted five interceptions last season.

Savannah Christian Prep was also well represented in the trenches with Jordan Dillon, a 3-star interior offensive lineman, and JT Howell, a 6'2", 300-pound senior.

Savannah Country Day’s veteran linebacker Hayes Beaver made the cut with 193 career tackles and 7.5 TFL, anchoring the Hornets’ defense. Kicker Cash Ramirez was recognized for his special teams work, with 14 career field goals and a long of 47 yards.

What’s Next:
With the season just weeks away, these players are poised to lead their teams into the fall spotlight—and Stewart’s early praise sets the tone for what could be a big year in Savannah football.
