Head coach Danny Britt accepted the award, expressed pride in the team's recognition, and celebrated what it means for the program's continued commitment to working hard.
"It means a lot to our program. Fifteen years ago, when we came to Benedict, we set a goal to win the team of the year trophies from the quarterback club, which first requires winning the area title. We've achieved that many times. I'm proud the quarterback club recognized our team's hard work. This group of kids chose to work hard this year, and it really paid off, even though we came up a little short in the state championship," Britt said.
