BASEBALL: BC Cadet McCoy & Islands Shark Sindahl WEEK #6 John Carr Seaport Real Estate Baseball Players of the Week

The Week #6 John Carr Seaport Real Estate/Prep Sports Report baseball players of the week go to Benedictine Military School junior pitcher Parker McCoy and Islands High School designated hitter senior Charlie Sindahl. Both stood out as the pitcher and position player of the week awarded on the Prep Sports Report website. The winners of the John Carr Seaport Real Estate/Prep Sports Report Baseball Players of the Week are nominated each week by the player's head baseball coaches. 

 

PITCHER of the WEEK

Player: Parker McCoy - junior Pitcher/Infielder

School: Benedictine Military School

Sport: Baseball

Week: March 20 - March 25, 2023

 

HIGHLIGHT: In the first game of a doubleheader versus Burke County High School on Friday, March 24, 2023, McCoy pitched five innings, giving up four hits, no earned run, walking two, and striking out seven. With the win, Benedictine clinched the series versus the Bears.

 

Note: In three games at the plate, McCoy went 5-11 batting .450, with two doubles with four runs batted in.

 

COACH'S COMMENT: "Parker had a solid outing that helped secure the series win," said Benedictine Military School Head baseball coach Kevin Farmer.

 

POSITION PLAYER of the WEEK

Player: Charlie Sindahl, senior, Designated Hitter

School: Islands High School

Sport: Baseball

Week: March 20 - March 25, 2023

 

HIGHLIGHT: In three games last week versus Southeast Bulloch, Charlie registered a .700 batting average (7-10) while having seven hits, three were doubles, scored two runs, and knocked in nine rbi. On the season, Sindahl has a .819 on-base percentage and a .427 slugging percentage. 

 

COACH'S COMMENT: "Charlie had himself a heck of a series at the plate. Led our team in hitting and had some big hits in some big-time spots during the series! Charlie is a tough kid that continues to grind as the season goes on!," said Islands High SchoolHead baseball coach Brandon Collins.
