Benedictine will open its home 2021 football season by hosting Miami Columbus in the 2021 Riddell Catholic School Classic. The Cadets host the 2019 Florida Class 8A state champions on August 27th at Memorial Stadium in Savannah, the school announced Monday at a press conference at the school.

Dave Dunn, the Miami Columbus head football coach, confirmed the news to PSR last week while also confirming that the Cadets will travel to Miami in August of 2022. Miami Christopher Columbus is an all-male Catholic School and the biggest private school in the state of Florida.

The Explorers went 8-0 last season and won the Miami-area championship following a modified season (COVID-19) in south Florida. They have a record of 33-5 over the previous three seasons, playing in Florida's highest classification.

Last year, BC and head coach Danny Britt made it to the GHSA Class 4A state semifinals. The Cadets are returning star seniors in Holden Geriner and Justin Thomas on offense while also getting back linebacker Holden Sapp on the defensive side. Benedictine (9-3 in 2020) has a 28-9 record over its last three seasons.

The Cadets are in Region 3-4A with SCCPSS programs Jenkins, New Hampstead, and Islands. Benedictine's Athletic department also announced a new radio partnership with ESPN Savannah.  Below is Benedictine Military School's 2021 football schedule.
